PennDOT-Certified Geotechnical Drilling Inspector (Field Position)

PennDOT Certified Geotechnical drilling inspectors needed for multiple long-term projects in south central and southeast Pennsylvania. Inspectors will be expected to work under the supervision of office personnel, but have problem solving capabilities to handle standard field decisions and direct drilling sub-contractors and MPT sub-contractors.

AEG's Geotechnical department is based in Harrisburg, PA; however, most time will be on-site at drilling sites. Schedules may vary based on the project and may include short term night shift work, as needed.

PennDOT Certified Drill Inspector is required, 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

Project Geotechnical Engineer (Harrisburg, PA)

Candidate must possess professional engineering registration with a minimum of five years experience in geotechnical design. Requires a BS or higher degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Job duties:

Successful candidate will study and analyze surficial and subsurface soil and rock materials to determine characteristics for construction, development, and land planning. Develop subsurface exploration programs, laboratory testing plans, and QA/QC for test results. Prepare slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, pile lateral capacity, and overturning computations for various types of structures, including retaining walls, bridges, culverts, noise barriers, and buildings. Familiar with computations involving both shallow, spread footing type foundations, as well as deep pile and/or drilled shaft type foundations. Prepare various types of Geotechnical Engineering reports, including Structure Foundation Geotechnical Engineering Reports, Roadway Geotechnical Engineering Reports, Reconnaissance Soils and Geological Engineering Reports, and Problem Statement Draft Exploration Plan reports.

Survey Crew Chief (Harrisburg, PA)

An experienced Party Chief to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying, civil, and transportation engineering in our Harrisburg, PA office. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment as a lead member of a survey crew performing boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

Duties include:

Required Skills & Experience

Civil Engineer (Phoenixville, PA)

Provide analysis, design, and drawings for equipment, bridges, towers, and buildings’ foundations. Provide analysis, design, and drawings of temporary bridge abutments with steel sheet piles and reinforced concrete bridge abutments supported on HP steel pile foundations. This also includes composite arch bridges, single span bridges, solider piles retaining walls, crane foundation on micro-piles, and precast segmental abutment panels. Design drainage structures including trenches, excavation support, manholes and sumps. Design of steel structures for large scale industrial structures, buildings and marine loading platforms and provide structural design and review of multi-cell box culverts, single span bridges and structures using STAAD software. Proficient in performing Finite Element Analysis. Requires a master’s degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of Relevant Experience.
