Candidates must have reliable transportation, willingness to work throughout the City of Philadelphia and other locations, exceptional character, and decision-making abilities, and must be willing to commit to outstanding customer service and attendance. Candidate will produce daily reports documenting progress on each site and coordinate daily activities based on the day’s workload. Position requires travel.
Candidates should have experience with site and building construction inspection, possess excellent plan reading and interpreting abilities, and have knowledge about all phases of construction activities. Position requires attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Depending on the position applied for the candidate must have a 2-year technical degree, at minimum; BS engineering degree; or demonstrated similar training at minimum. Five or more years of experience with oversight of structural and site renovations preferred. Candidate must be able to learn and navigate the Project Management software.

Engineering Technician
American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) is a full-service consulting engineering firm seeking an entry- to mid- level Engineering Technician to join our Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania office. Technician will perform a variety of work in central and eastern Pennsylvania, including field testing and sampling soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt along with office tasks as assigned including report preparation. The technician will also assist in AEG’s AASHTO-accredited soils laboratory, as needed. Successful applicant must be thorough, detail-oriented, and able to learn and apply technical concepts while maintaining positive relations with site personnel and effectively communicating project related information. Outstanding personnel integrity, interpersonal skills, and judgement are essential.

Duties include:

Laboratory Technician
American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) is a full-service consulting engineering firm seeking an entry- to mid- level Laboratory Technician to join our Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania office. Technician will perform a variety of work including assisting in AEG’s AASHTO-accredited soils, rock, and construction materials laboratory performing testing methodologies with data collection, reporting, and Quality Control duties. Technician may also perform various field work in central and eastern Pennsylvania, including field testing and sampling soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt as needed. Successful applicant must be thorough, detail-oriented, and able to learn and apply technical concepts while simultaneously maintaining positive relations with laboratory and engineering staff and effectively communicating project related information. Outstanding personnel integrity, interpersonal skills, and judgement are essential.
Duties include:
- Prepare samples and perform laboratory testing of soil and aggregate materials
- Perform laboratory testing of rock and concrete samples

Survey Manager - PLS

American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm with over 60 years of PennDOT and private engineering consulting experience based in South Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. AEG’s Survey department, which has been providing outstanding services for over a half century, is based in our Mechanicsburg, PA office and is seeking a dynamic and capable Professional Land Surveyor to lead all aspects of the department. We are seeking a candidate with the experience and capabilities to manage a department performing boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology. Survey data is collected with conventional and GPS total stations and data collectors and processed with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads software.
The right candidate will lead the department and mentor junior staff and be part of the AEG Management Team. As such, he or she will create and maintain client relationships, market the company’s Survey capabilities, and prepare proposals with the goal of securing future work for the department while promoting the company as a whole.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Responsible, reliable, highly motivated, and detailed-oriented Licensed Professional Land Surveyor: PA required; MD, DE, NJ preferred. A minimum of 10 years of working experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Surveying is preferred.
- Experience with client relations, proposal development, and project management.
- Experience with oversight of survey aspects of civil and transportation engineering projects, particularly detailed PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) topographic and right-of-way surveys sufficient for engineering design, boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, construction stakeout surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate, communicate with, and perform work concurrently for various outside clients and departments within the company.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively schedule and manage multiple field crews working independently and concurrently.
- Ability to perform QA/QC for survey computations and data collection as well as Computer-Aided Drafting and Design performed by staff.
- Ability to prepare, sign, and seal survey and right-of-way plans for PennDOT and PTC projects and Others, as required.
- Ability to prepare Technical and Price proposals for survey and right-of-way portions of transportation and other types of projects.
- Familiarity with PennDOT ECMS system.
- Familiarity with and ability to operate Conventional Total Stations, Trimble and/or Leica Robotic Total Stations, GPS, static, RTK, and RTN and associated software, such as Trimble Access and Leica LGO.
- Familiarity with unmanned aerial vehicle/drone surveys and/or Lidar scanning a plus.
- Ability to travel for project scoping and project/crew oversight purposes. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must be proficient with Office software suite, particularly WORD and EXCEL.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to pass drug screenings, as required.

The candidate will perform engineering design tasks on transportation projects such as roadway designs, ADA ramps, bridge replacements/rehabilitations, traffic controls, etc. under the direction of a Project Manager. This position offers potential for professional growth and may require working on multiple transportation projects concurrently.
Duties include:
– Assisting with ADA concrete curb ramps design
– Assisting with roadway design
– Assisting with traffic control plans
– Assisting with bridge/culvert designs
– Assisting with traffic counts

Qualifications/Experience:
