Construction Manager/Inspectors
Philadelphia, PA
American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) is a DBE civil engineering firm looking for construction candidates for positions such as:
– Construction Managers
– Assistant Construction Managers
– Construction Inspectors
Candidates must have reliable transportation, willingness to work throughout the City of Philadelphia and other locations, exceptional character, and decision-making abilities, and must be willing to commit to outstanding customer service and attendance. Candidate will produce daily reports documenting progress on each site and coordinate daily activities based on the day’s workload. Position requires travel.
Candidates should have experience with site and building construction inspection, possess excellent plan reading and interpreting abilities, and have knowledge about all phases of construction activities. Position requires attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Depending on the position applied for the candidate must have a 2-year technical degree, at minimum; BS engineering degree; or demonstrated similar training at minimum. Five or more years of experience with oversight of structural and site renovations preferred. Candidate must be able to learn and navigate the Project Management software.
Position award is contingent on client Project Manager approval. Candidates should submit resumes describing relevant experience and be willing to have their resume shared with potential clients.

Civil/Structural Engineer - PE or EIT Preferred
As a growing firm, American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) has an immediate openings for experienced civil/structural engineers, EIT or PE Preferred. The candidates should have knowledge of engineering concepts and be able to understand the drawings and plans i.e. correlating plans, elevations, and cross-sections. The candidate should be able to perform detailed calculations, analysis and reviews for structures like culverts, their post tensioning and segmental construction, segmental precast abutment assessment, wing walls, retaining walls and multiple bridge shop drawing reviews. They should be familiar with CAD related softwares i.e. AUTOCAD/Microstation. The selected candidates will be primarily working on the transportation related projects (PennDOT) i.e. bridges, roadway etc. The salary will depend on the qualifications and experience.
Duties:
- Assisting with bridge/culvert designs
- Assisting with roadway design
- Assisting with traffic control plans
- Assisting with traffic counts
- Preparing construction plans for highway and/or bridge projects
- Assisting with ADA concrete curb ramps design
- Collaborate with project teams to draft and design civil engineering projects
- Perform calculations and analysis to ensure structural integrity and compliance with regulations
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering
- 4+ years of experience
- Experience with CADD (Microstation or AutoCAD)
- Experience with Staad-Pro (desired)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Pennsylvania EIT or PE license (willingness to test in one year will be considered)
- Preferred experience working with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and/or the City of Philadelphia (or proof of experience with similar agencies)

Civil Designer
American Engineers Group, LLC (Phoenixville, PA) seeks Civil Designer to perform quality inspections & work on green storm water infrastructure & water main relay projects. Prepare estimates & certificate of work done. Project documentation such as measurement sketches, daily progress reports/diaries, pictures & close outs. Review & approve change orders & conduct progress review & repaving meetings. Design reviews/recommendations for changes in designs due to field conditions. Prepare civil & structural designs & drawings. Participate in streetscape improvements, citywide resurfacing efforts, shared-use sidewalk construction, bridge rehab, culvert & retaining wall designs & design of building elements.
Requires a MS in Civil Engineering.
