About this Project

AEG was a member of multiple winning teams selected for three on call engineering services contracts for PhilaPort. This task order involved converting 70.6 acres of neglected and dilapidated land into a functional auto port to store vehicles effectively.

AEG surveyed existing features of the project site, prepared a base plan showing surveyed features, and performed a post-demolition survey following the demolition of several buildings on the site. AEG also surveyed an existing pipe system as marked and detailed by CCTV and completed a final as-built surface and storm drain survey.

AEG coordinated a subsurface exploration and provided geotechnical recommendations for a proposed parking lot area and high-mast lights for the parking lot. Pavement recommendations were also provided. AEG performed infiltration testing and provided stormwater consultation. AEG also conducted a subsurface investigation of wetland areas identified at the site.

AEG provided consultation to avoid and minimize adverse environmental impacts. Measures to reduce impacts were incorporated into the site design.

AEG provided on-site personnel to perform construction inspection and oversight during construction activities for site preparation. On-site personnel observed construction activities, including fill and aggregate material placement and compaction and subbase preparation, ensuring that QC testing operations were performed according to project specifications. AEG submitted daily inspection reports summarizing construction crew activities, including detailed photograph logs. This task order also involved oversight of the installation of a new sanitary system for the facility.
