About this Project

AEG is the prime consultant for this agreement and is responsible for project management and administration, planning, oversight, cost control, and coordination to meet the project schedule, budget, and objectives. Both culverts are being designed concurrently.

Environmental efforts for this project involve confirming and delineating the boundaries of waterways and wetlands within the project vicinity, including a report documenting the investigation results. AEG provided threatened and endangered species coordination and completed a Level 1B CE document for each structure. An E&S plan and narrative were prepared for both culverts, and an individual NPDES permit was required for each crossing. A Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) report was also prepared.

AEG survey crews performed all required field surveys under the direction of a Pennsylvania Licensed Land Surveyor. Notice of Intent to Enter letters were prepared for each affected property owner. AEG performed a PA One Call to have the underground utilities marked in the field. H&H surveys noted the culverts’ existing type, material, shape, height, width, and length. The headwalls, wingwalls, and features of each structure were surveyed. AEG researched tax maps, property owners, and deed information to assemble a deed mosaic. A digital terrain model (.dtm) was prepared to show the surveyed features. AEG is also responsible for Right-of-Way activities.

AEG oversaw and administered one overall boring contract, including specifications and boring plans. AEG performed laboratory tests utilizing our in-house AASTHO- Accredited Laboratory.

A Final Type, Size, & Location (TS&L) Report was prepared for each structure. A Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) plan will also be prepared for both project sites.

On our Consultant Evaluation prepared by PennDOT District 8-0, AEG received an overall EE – Exceeds Expectations rating. We received the following praise from a District Executive: AEG completed the scoping phase with ease and needed very little District guidance. AEG learned a lot during their time as sub-consultants within the District and it helped complete the scoping phase. [AEG] was very responsive and kept the District informed of all project-related specifics. Thank you.
