Inspection and monitoring at a key interstate crossing
- Owner: Delaware River Port Authority
- Location: Various NJ Locations
About this Project
This task was issued under the Delaware River Port Authority’s (DRPA) open-ended traffic and transportation engineering services contract. The project focused on monitoring drainage infrastructure at the New Jersey approach to the 1.6-mile-long Betsy Ross Bridge, which spans the Delaware River and connects New Jersey to Pennsylvania.
AEG supervised DRPA’s Pipe Video Inspection Survey and Structure Conditions Assessment, overseeing on-site drainage inspection activities. Field staff monitored progress, recorded pipe conditions and blockages, and shared findings with DRPA personnel. AEG also conducted condition assessments for 25 inlets, ten maintenance holes, and one culvert.
To ensure safe field operations, AEG created a project-specific Health and Safety Plan. All inspection data was gathered into a detailed report summarizing field observations and structural conditions based on video footage and site assessments.
