An award-winning project that implemented green infrastructure to improve stormwater management in Lower Northeast Philadelphia
- Client: City of Philadelphia Water Department
- Location: Philadelphia County, PA
About this Project
This project was part of the City of Philadelphia’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) initiative called Green City, Clean Waters.
AEG provided one full-time on-site construction inspector for oversight of day-to-day construction operations. The construction activities included stormwater and drainage improvements, including three GSI systems.
Construction inspection services included coordinating the pre-construction meeting, reviewing project plans and specifications, tracking submittals, generating quantities, creating photographic documentation, attending construction meetings, monitoring the schedule, communicating with project managers and designers, submitting reports, monitoring and reporting potential utility conflicts, and monitoring the contractor’s safety program. AEG’s inspector also coordinated access with businesses/residences, coordinated water valve operations, monitored compliance with the City’s NPDES requirements, tracked change orders, administered contractor payments, monitored certified payroll efforts, coordinated the final walk-through, coordinated as-built plans, and conducted a final inspection and project closeout.
This project was assigned under an open-ended planning and design of a GSI contract with the City. AEG is a subconsultant on several similar contracts and has provided services at 29 project sites for GSI projects.
